My husband and I just celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary and I was blown away! I usually plan everything, but this year he took the lead and I was pleasantly surprised!! We had a chill morning and ate cereal, cuddles and watched a movie. Honestly I was cool with that. But then we tells me that he has a surprise for me and that we need to get dressed. So I put on my most sexy dress and heels and we go out to an extremely fancy restaurant for dinner.

My man called ahead, told them it was our anniversary and our table had candles and a happy anniversary card from the staff. We sit down and talk about how amazing these two years of marriage have been when all the sudden his best friend who works in the same restaurant comes out with the biggest vase of calla lilies and red roses. I burst into tears because he remembered calla lilies were my favorite and he really planned ahead. We got so many compliments and thumbs up from other guests, my husband even got some pats on the back and “way to go son”!!

We eat and before dessert, the waitress comes out with a bouquet of candy and chocolates and tells me that my husband had another surprise! I was crying uncontrollably by this point and my husband is telling me all the most perfect things. My husband’s best friend picked up the tab for our dinner and we headed home because there is another surprise....

We get home and I’m finally calm after all the emotions and waterworks. He tells me to lay down so he can give me a massage. I’m like “oh yeah definitely!!” I open my bedroom door and see candles and roses on the floor and on my bed in the shape of a heart. Complete with two wine glasses and a bottle of champagne! He really really planned this out. I know my husband and knew he could not pull this off alone, and apparently he roped in my best friend to set it all up when we were at dinner.

After everything that we have lost and suffered through it’s nice to know that we still have each other and we are stronger than ever!! I love him so much. I am so incredibly blessed!
