Egg Retrieval Update- Need Advice???

15 mature - all fertilized
But, 7 abnormal and 8 normal👶🏾❤️
What is the chances of all 8 of my embryos making it to day 5 and freeze. My nurse said I won’t hear from someone until Sunday regarding my transfer on Tuesday.

I was told that on average about half make it to day 5. However an average includes people who have all if their embryos make it, people who have none make it, and everything in between. I had 8 fertilized and 5 made it. 2 more were borderline but unfortunately didn't meet the requirements. Good luck to you! It's so nerve wracking!!!

There are so many factors that go into this.  Like do you have good egg quality, or do you have endometriosis or PCOS, how old are you, etc.  I would say if you are young and have good egg quality you could expect at least 30% of your eggs that fertilized normally to arrest before they make it to day 5.  That would mean that 5-6 of your eggs survive to day 5 to be frozen or transferred.  I’m basing this off of my own numbers, health, and age only.  I was 26 with no fertility issues (we were strictly MFI) and of my 12 eggs that fertilized normally 9 made it to day 5 to freeze.
