God made sex to be a holy thing between a man and his wife, I personally believe that self exploration is okay as long as no porn is involved (Personally against toys as well but for a different reason)

There is nothing in the Bible that states explicitly that masturbation is a sin. 
However, some people believe that it is a sin because it's an act that doesn't focus on God and instead is about the self. Others say it is because the only sexual act one should be making is with a spouse of the opposite sex. Lust is a sin, so the process of going about masturbation could be considered a sin. 
On the other side of the scale, some believe it is not a sin because it's an act that doesn't harm anyone else on its own and others think it actually brings one closer to God. 
There are people who believe that when masturbation becomes your master, then it becomes a sin because it is controlling your actions. 
It's a really up in the air concept. I would suggest praying about it if you still don't know where you stand or what God is saying to you.

There is nothing in the Bible where it says 'thou shall not masturbate'. We are allowed pleasure or we wouldn't be able to have sex with our spouses. Its actually healthy to do as well.
