Breastfeeding &the pill

So I’m 12 weeks postpartum and still breastfeeding. I’m on the pill but not a strong dosage since I’m still breastfeeding. Has anyone experienced little to no periods while breastfeeding with/without being on any birth control? I’ve read where it’s possible but really don’t know. I’m curious if this happens often?
