My name is Jaime, which is unisex, but also in Spanish culture it is a male name because of the spelling pronounced Hi-mee. Only problem is I’m not Spanish nor am I a male. My mom was 17 when she had me and had just taken French in high school. J’aime translates to “I love” in English which my 17 year old mom loved. I have to constantly correct people when they spell my name, and Siri calls me “hi-mee”, so aggravating.

My husbands name is Casey, which is also unisex. The confusion on people’s faces is priceless, they have no idea which one of us is Casey and which one is Jaime. We get mail for Mr. Jaime and Mrs. Casey. Our kids poor teachers have no clue what name to call us by.

Anyone else have a unisex name and feel our pain?
