Nexplanon effect when spotting?

I've had the nexplanon for 1.5 years. I started spotting yesterday (first bleeding since placement). I just had unprotected sex. With the spotting, will the nexplanon still protect me? Or should I try Plan B?

You’re safe. Sometimes random spotting happens with it but it doesn’t mean you’re not covered. I had three implants for nine years total and had some spotting. Never got pregnant and never used condoms.

I have had nexplanon for 3 years and get it removed next week! I have not gotten pregnant and my cycles are still to this day crazy! I’m hoping after it’s removed I feel better.

Nexplanon is just doing its job. It's normal to have abnormal bleeding the first 4 months. You're fine dont worry :)
