2nd period post partum

I thought I was getting my period because I had old blood. I stuck a soft cup in and by the next day it was clear. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. Next day I get dark red blood for one bathroom break then nothing, then back to old blood, then pink, then nothing. I’ve had to keep my softcup in to not stain. Anyone else ever have this?
