Birth control pills

I completely stopped my birth control pills a week before my period was supposed to start and started bleeding a day later. Wasn’t suppose to start for a couple more days. Should I count that as my period? Or is that just withdrawal bleeding from stopping the pill? I know my cycle will be off for some time and just want to make sure how this works.
