Gender pressure!?

My family (particularly my in-laws) are driving me nuts! This is our 2nd baby together. My husband has a 10 year old from his previous marriage and we have a 17 month old daughter his family keeps telling me how I’m having a boy ( we didn’t find out the the gender) or that there praying for a boy this time....I don’t care either way but It’s almost to the point I feel like I’m going to disappoint his entire family if it’s a girl.

I will never understand why people make such a big deal about the gender. As long as they're healthy, that's all that should matter.

My in-laws want a girl, bad. They have 5 grandsons so far and no granddaughters. When we announced to them we were pregnant the response I got was "if it's a girl I'm going to spoil that little girl so much". Then a few weeks later when we called to tell them grandchild number 6 would also be a boy I was told to "get working on a girl" . I joked back and said I can only make one at a time.... But it's kind of disappointing to hear comments like that. 😞 Luckily our child will be my parents first grandchild and they were thrilled regardless of gender. 😊

I completely understand. I’m 26 weeks with our third boy & our family was NOT excited to say the least. Neither side of the family has birthed a girl in 25+ years. We didn’t even tell my husbands parents (my in-laws) or any other family until I was 5 months along this time, & we still got shitty responses because it’s another boy. After we told my mother in law it was another boy, she literally stared at me with her jaw wide open and after about 10 seconds of awkward silence, looked at me and said “well, I’d like to switch it up and get a girl sometime, if you don’t mind”. My husband is her only child, therefore my 3 boys are her only grandchildren. 
Little did they know, we had 2 losses in 2018 desperately praying & trying for a girl. We unexpectedly conceived this boy when we actually had decided we would wait on baby#3.... funny how life works. I cried for days straight after the anatomy scan. Hearing people’s comments about “oh we just can’t make girls can we” or how “sorry I am for you, all boys, you’ll have your hands full” etc etc etc just pours salt on wounds. 🤦🏻‍♀️

That’s annoying. They will love the baby regardless and their is not much you can do about the gender !!

Same here. I have 2 boys and we never find out the gender until birth. But this pregnancy feels like another boy and my ENTIRE family and in laws keep wishing and hoping for a girl. like who cares?! they are talking about it as if they will be disappointed baby is a boy.

My mom was and is still salty about us having another boy. She has all grandsons😂 
Yea it hurts my feelings and I hope she doesn't treat this baby any different. If she does she will have a rude awakening!! We have had several losses. My mom kept saying "well you just can't carry a girl and your body kills baby girls" 😢😖

That's how my dad was when we didn't know the gender of our second. We revealed it's another boy on Christmas, (we're ecstatic) my dad sat there with his stupid sour face, and I laughed and told him "you can just get over it".
You have no control over the outcome, so they can get over it too.
