IUD experiences?

Question

What type of IUD do you have and do you like it? Im looking to get one, but I’m not sure which to get. What are your experiences, positive or negative?

I have mirena and I love it so much. It stops periods for around 20% of people and I'm glad to be one. No side effects, no periods or condoms. I got a numbing shot and also took ibuprofen and Tylenol before insertion and I didn't feel it, I was 20 and I've never been pregnant

I have mirena. 5 mins bad cramps insertion. Bad cramps for 2 weeks only side effect. Periods stopped after 4 months love it cuz mine are super heavy. I've had it almost 9 months now. No periods, no pills. No pharamacy and meds domt interact. We have sex without condoms or pull out and no pregnancies. I do my monthly string checks just fine but we dont feel it during sex.

I have kyleena. The 1st time I got it, it was great. No cramps but I did spot a lot. And never really had a period after I got it. But it came out on its own at 11 months. After that I got the Paraguard. At first it was heaven for me. Then I stopped having periods and had a lot of pain. So I went to the doctor and she said it had imbedded a small bit in my uterus. She got it out and it was super painful. Then I got another kyleena about a week ago and it’s been great no real cramping or anything

I had Skyla. Insertion was uncomfortable. Bleeding wasn't bad and only lasted through the first month. My periods got a lot lighter which was nice because the start of my period can be pretty heavy. But I got horrible cramps. My first cramps with my first period had me in years and holding my breath as I was driving home from a job interview. They weren't as bad after a couple of cycles but I would get random sharp cramps at different times of the month. I was also unable to lose any weight no matter what I did. I finally had enough after 11 months and got it removed. I was able to lose weight and didn't have random cramps anymore. I hated what it did to my body but I enjoyed not having to worry about pregnancy. If it wasn't for the random painful cramps I would get it again.

i have Skyla which is the one for 3 yrs. Its honestly great. It helped me get my period for less day, just a lighter period in general. Not much cramps, compared to how i had then before ! & yes i havent gotten pregnant soo yay

I had Mirena IUD and tell you girl that it worked for me for 5 years, no worries to be pregnant and no periods.  Just after removing I noticed that still don't have periods and passed 10 years still can't get pregnant with 2nd child. So, hormones in IUD very strong and can have bad effect to your body.

I’ve had the copper Paraguard twice. Removed both times when wanting to conceive. It worked great for me. Periods were still normal, I didn’t have to worry about remembering to take a pill, and the best part… the copper one uses no hormones so I didn’t feel weird anymore. 
The first insertion was pretty painful, but I had never been pregnant before. Had to be on ibuprofen regimen for a few weeks. 
The second insertion was no big deal, after having given birth. Was no more uncomfortable than a pap. 
You can’t beat the peace of mind and the cost savings of an IUD.
