Taking your toddler to the movies?

What is an appropriate age to take your toddler to see a movie? She watched the trailer to the new Dumbo movie & was SO excited. She will be 3 in April & is very quiet & attentive when a movie is on! Just looking for advice! 🤗

My son is 5 and I still haven’t taken him, don’t feel it’s necessary or beneficial. It’s a lot of money to watch something on a large screen when I could spend that money on something better for him and I.

All kids are different. Mine is 2 and I can’t get him to watch cartoons at home. He is all over the house, but I used to baby sit and that boy was a saint. That little kid help me decide for another baby and now that I have him I am calling quits lol...

Depends on the baby/toddler. My 14 month old son wont sit through a movie. Longest hell sit is 30min. But my friends brought her baby with us to movies since she was 6months old.

Most movie theatres have screenings just for young kids. Look into that please.

My son goes to the movies all the time starting since 2. It all depends on the kid and their temperament.

Some theaters do kid screenings of movies so it's not as dark, the sound isn't as high and if the kids do get bored, they won't be disturbing other people who might get cranky about it. I'd suggest looking into that personally

Whenever YOU think she is ready.  My advice for the first theater movie?  Sit on the side or the front so you can easily leave if she gets bored or fusses too much.  Bring an extra jacket (I would say blankets, but theaters are not super clean... maybe a towel??), and a water bottle.  Maybe her fave plushie if it can be washed??

I was really afraid to take my 2.5 year old to a movie cuz she NEVER sits still for movies at home but we went and saw the grinch when it came out and she did so good! Just kept the popcorn by her so she was occupied lol

I’ve taken my son to a 2 movies already. He’s 2 I’ve taken him since he turned 2 not before that. He did AMAZING both times! First movie he saw was incredibles 2 which he did the best in. Second was the grinch who stole Christmas which he also did great but the last 20min or so he started to get a little stir crazy. Trick is we’d buy his own seat so he can have his space or sit with me or my husband, plenty of room. And tons of snacks.
