What does a one year old need?

People keep asking me what they should get him for his birthday but I am not sure what else he could need, other than clothes. Any suggestions or was there anything you would say helped a lot with your toddler?

Thick/chunky books that won’t rip and they can turn the page.   Blocks or cups they can stack or nest.  A safe kiddie pool for when it gets hot outside.  An indoor playground with a slide.

My son got a lot of Duplo, clothes in larger sizes (asked specific for this as we have most he needs for now), winter clothes for the next winter(great things to buy on the January sale, books, and some learning toys,

I'm sure though can easy tell what his favorite snacks are so you could always ask for it if not ask for gift card right now he might not need anything  but down the road he will need something  plus it allows him to pick out a toy he wants

Close family, my husband and I said to put money  into her bank acct ( she didnt need ANYTHING)  almost everyone else gave her clothes  or toys that  I actually  ended up returning what I could.

They're just learning to walk, so those little push toys or toy grocery carts are great. A play tent is always fun, too. Also a little wagon you can buckle him in and take him for walks. New bath toys they always like.

Books, there are never enough books. And big-ass paper with crayons/markers/paints/pencils that stuff keeps my toddler busy for a while.
