Speech therapy
Has anyone put their child in speech therapy, and if so, how long until there was any progress?
My son just turned two on Christmas and he had his second session today. It was hard because he’s also starting his tantrums and screams phase. I also know it’s new for him and it’s also new to spend an hour with a new person so the first few sessions are not expected to go super smoothly.
Any tips or insight?
He only has a handful of words but is very receptive. When we had his hearing tested the doctor said it’s common for first-born boys in a two-language household to experience a delay in speech. He said girls are quicker to speak specially if they have siblings, which made my husband and me feel a little less worried and a little less like failures.
