Can you offer a help to a struggling mom with a toddlers who is throwing tantrums in public? I always wonder if you could help the mom hold the younger child while she deal with the one rolling on the floor? I wanted to help but I was hesitant because I didn’t want to be creepy or make the mom feel like I’m making her feel any less

It depends on the mom’s energy. If she’s PISSED TF OFF I’d probably just keep it moving tbh...but if she looks really helpless, I’d offer help🤷🏻‍♀️

I feel for struggle mom.. I'd cloyingly offer to help but in a "you got this.. we've all been there" type way...

I feel like that would be a good way to get slapped. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of mothers helping mothers or even just people in general helping each other with kids, but in this day and age, you're liable to wind up with a black eye and a conversation with the police just for offering. 😬

I think it’s nice to ask but I would never hand my baby over to a stranger like that.

I always pretend they don't exist because I don't want the mom to feel like I'm judging her when I'm not, so I usually just let her do her thing and pretend there isn't a tantrum happening at all. I also don't want to overstep or cause further issues (in case it would creep the mom out, or maybe the kid/baby doesn't like strangers and it makes the situation worse, ect) 
But if a mom asks me to hold thier kid, I say okay and try to help, or if I catch her eye I try to smile to let her know I'm not judging

I probably wouldn’t want anyone stepping in. Idk I’d just feel weird. But I’ve distracted someone’s kid that was ripping candy bars off the shelf while sitting in the cart and his mom was holding a crying baby while trying to put the groceries on the belt. Situational I guess

It’s fine, no harm in offering. I’d be the kind of person that wouldn’t want to accept a strangers help, especially when it comes to my kids, but it would make me grateful that someone had offered. If I see a parent having a hard time in public I try and give them a smile and that look that implies I feel for them!

Personally, I would be weirded out if some stranger offered to hold my kid. Who would pass their baby off to a stranger? Similarly I would not appreciate a stranger approaching my kid during a tantrum telling them how to act. Mind your business.

I would feel a little creeped out if a random stranger offered to hold my child, but if they asked if I needed any help in general I would be appreciative.
