High chair ??? Necessary

My first baby is 12 months old. Do you guys recommend a high chair ? She has a activity chair that can strap onto a chair to eat. Do you guys think a high chair is worth it ? When do they stop using them ??

You haven’t used a high chair yet?  My lil guy is 11 months and we’ve been using a high chair since he was 6 months.  I’m wondering how you’ve gotten away without one lol

Yes a high chair is worth it! I just used a graco one. Nothing too fancy.

Get her a high chair. IKEA has one for $20. You will be glad you got one. My daughter sat in hers til she was 2 (and your daughter won’t fit in an activity chair til 2). Also it contains food to one area, as opposed to all over the place. Kids are messy. And she can feed herself there too.

My daughter switched out of the high chair and into a booster seat at the table probably around 12 month. I think it’s easier to just wipe down the table and we can take the chair when we visit our family. Also, I feel like it’s getting her more ready for sitting at a table. But I think whatever works in your house is fine.

We had a high chair that hooked on the chair. Real life savor. It also could be used as a booster afterwards. At 12 months they should start feeding themselves. So she’ll need a tray. I loved it. When I was cooking or washing dishes, I’d put his snacks on a plate. It kept him busy and healthy.

I find them necessary. Our son has been in one since five months. He’s learning to feed himself (bottle and solid food) in large part because of the support the chair provides. Ours transitions into a booster seat with straps for a chair once he is ready to sit at the table. I also personally think it is important that he learn to eat at the table without toys.

I never used a high chair in my sons entire existence, he’s now 2.5 ... he started eating in his race car walker & then he transitioned to sitting at the table with us & we would just put his bumbo on the seat. Now he sits eat the table without it since he can reach. 
Maybe this baby will get one but I’m not too worried about it since it’s 100% possible to live without one.
