Progenity Testing... Yes or No?

I originally thought I would be getting the genetic testing that reveals the gender done. I keep getting the run around about if it is an out of pocket expense or if it’s going to be covered by my insurance...I’m under 35 so it’s not “medically necessary”. Has anyone under 35 gotten the test done and was it covered by insurance? I’m debating on whether to get it done now... what are your thoughts?

Mine doesn’t cover it and I have BCBS but it only cost us around $350 to get it done last year.

I have done it. The most they will charge you out of pocket is 100 if your insurance doesn’t cover anything. It’s worth it for piece of mind

My insurance doesn’t cover it, and I only had it with the last because I got a bad stomach virus. They had concerns so they tested. I’m under 35.

Mine didnt cover because I'm under 35 too... boo. It cost $1325 so we will be waiting lol

I have a number you can text and they will tell you if your insurance covers it! I am 21 mine covers it!

I paid for mine. Its cost my hubsand and I $100. So maybe mine was partially covered?...idk anyways the only way to know for sure is to actually call your insurance company.

I’m getting the sneak peek clinical done instead. My doctor said it is the same type of test except it only tells the gender.

Mine covered the genetic testing but I had to call them I’m pretty sure it was called harmony though I have BCBS

The way my doc explained it was that his going to hit your out of pocket max this year no matter what, so this test in the long run free.
