Breastfeeding preventing pregnancy?

Hey ladies,
So we’ve been trying for baby #2 for 6 months now. Periods are regular. I’m breastfeeding my 14 mo old twice a day still. (Wake up and bedtime). Do you think that has an impact on why we haven’t conceived yet?

The effect of breastfeeding on fertility is different for each person. Some ladies need to finish weaning the first before getting pregnant with the next 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m still breastfeeding my 15mo and I’m 6 weeks pregnant. I thought breastfeeding would prolong the conception process but nope lol

I would say no. In my experience, I got pregnant with baby 2 without planning and I was still breastfeeding. I’m currently 22 weeks and still breastfeeding my 15mo although I feel like I need to ween her soon 🤷🏼‍♀️😓😩

Hard to say. I think many reasons can can contribute to infertility. My first I breastfed till she was 19months and my second I had a Hard time getting pregnant. 
I had to do fertility treatments but I’m also an older mom. Gave birth to my second at age 39. The reason I think maybe breastfeeding did play some role for me was that I didn’t get my period till my little one was 17 months old but I was breastfeeding to sleep (nap, nights, and when she was fussy). If you are a younger mom and in good health, I wouldn’t worry too much. Keep breastfeeding till you decide it’s the right time for you two to end it. If you are an older mom though, it’s certainly something you want to talk to your doctor about. Keep tracking your ovulation, period, and with time you’ll see a clearer pic of what’s going on. I’m still breastfeeding and I got pregnant around the same time I got my period back. So I don’t think that would stop you from getting pregnant. You can still ovulate when your breastfeeding. But perhaps if you don’t have your period yet it makes it less likely for you to conceive.
