Levothyroxine though my labs are normal?

My OB wants me to start taking levothyroxine as I TTC. But my thyroid levels are normal. I guess there’s recommended ranges for first trimester? But I don’t get it.. has anyone done this before who could explain it to me?

I had a miscarriage from not watching my levels closely. “Normal” range is from around .4-4.0. However when trying to conceive I was told I should be at 2.5 or lower and when pregnant below 2.0. What are you currently at? My last labs I was at 2.53 but they increased my dose since I’m trying to conceive.

What my Dr told me is that my levels were in the normal range but when trying to conceive they wanted the numbers to be either lower or higher {I can't remember which one) so then I started on levothyroxin. They told me that this will decrease my risk of miscarriage and increase the chance of implantation! I took it for one month and my levels are now where the Dr wants it! I will continue on it even if I get pregnant.
