Short term disability coverage

I wanted to share something I recently learned for those TTC. You need to apply for short term disability before you conceive in order to receive STD benefits/partial pay. I applied for STD this year as I’ll be going on FMLA leave for pregnancy but was denied coverage as pregnancy is a pre existing condition. I thought I had all my bases covered but am totally SOL on getting benefits. Just an FYI.

PS do be sure to look into Hospital Indemnity coverage. It’s my only lifesaver at this point.
