Should I move on to IVF or do a third IUI?

My husband is 30 and I’m 28... been ttc for over 2 years with unexplained infertility. No issues found other than I might not be ovulating some cycles because they range from 28-43 days long... just had my second iui today but if this doesn’t work is it worth it to continue with another iui or just do ivf? (I also did two medicated timed intercourse cycles on Clomid)

I just had my third IUI a week ago. I understand the feelings of questioning if it’s worth it. But my RE as well as a ton of google (I know I know) said IUI most of the time is not as effective unless you do multiple cycles meaning 3-6

We have done 4 IUI so far! Personally, I wish we would have already done IVF. We want more than 1 child, so the thought of having to do IUI all over again and needing to move to IVF anyways makes me sick. Having frozen embryos to use for future pregnancies after an IVF cycle sounds so wonderful! If this 4 one doesn’t work we will be going to IVF and I’ll not be sad about it at all. Good luck, don’t let anyone persuade you to do something that isn’t right for you specifically. I let that happen and now I’m regretting it! Obviously if I get pregnant this IUI I’ll be ecstatic, but really the thought of doing it over again and just having to go to IVF is horrifying. We have male factor infertility so it’s totally luck of the draw each cycle. IVF would totally bypass that! Good luck!

What’s the cost for both for you? Iui is covered under my insurance ivf is completely out of pocket. Tomorrow will be my second iui. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about two years. (I have two uterus so my issue is a little different but ovulating regularly) I will do maybe 5 iui I think before we move on to ivf. From what I have heard ivf is very hard physically and mentally on the body and mind. Good luck! Personally If ivf was covered I prob would go right to it... but it’s the whole 12,000$+ thing that’s holding me back

That’s so tough! One thought would be to schedule an IVF consultation to get that started- in the meantime you might have time for one more IUI? I know that we decided to try 3 but partially for insurance reasons. I’m about to have my 3rd IUI but I’m gearing up for IVF, reading and mentally preparing

I just had my third iui and I also have unexplained infertility with no issues found with me nor the husband . I’m 33 and my husband is 25 , his count and motility and morphology and everything is great . I have ovulated every month with at least two follicles with letrozole. I chose iui because it cost 254.00 and the ivf would cost over 5,000.  Iui is also less invasive then ivf , less shots and medicine as well. I personally just wanted it to happen more naturally , we had a loss in July of 2021. We have been ttc since December of 2020, just went to specialist in March . April was first iui with four follicles and may was second iui with three follicles and this iui we had three potentially four. It’s always a miracle at the end of the day , lots of baby dust !
