can someone explain to me why we get monthly periods?? im 13 and would like to know.

The blood is the shedding of the lining of your uterus. So basically your bodys like alright I don't have a baby lets get rid of all this stuff that we would need to support a baby and then you get your period.

Your body releases an egg each month and your uterus prepares itself for the fertilized egg. When it doesn’t receive a fertilized egg, it sheds the uterine lining which was to prepare the egg for implantation. The uterine lining is your period.
