Sleep?!?

Any tips for getting baby to stay up more during the day so that he'll sleep more at night? He eats every 1.5-2 hours breastfed. 11 days old, FTM.

You shouldn’t keep a newborn awake. Their cycles will regulate eventually. Sometimes it takes a few weeks, or a few months, but babies brains develop during sleep and 11 days old is tiny and will do most of their sleeping during the day. It’s normal.

Let it sleep. Without sufficient rest in the day they are too excited to sleep at night.

Possible encourage slightly longer feedings. I change diaper between sides when she’s sleepy and it helps a lot. But it’s normal to have days and nights mixed up for a while and keeping baby awake won’t necessarily help. Getting more calories during the day might!
