Should I buy more baby clothes?

Question

I'm 20weeks pregnant with my first daughter after having 3 boys,  and I tend to love shopping for her. My husband seems to think she has enough clothes and I shouldn't be buying anymore. Theres a total of 50 acticles of clothing ranging from newborn to 12 months. I feel like more clothes should be bought. What do all of you think?

I’m a minimalist and won’t have 50 items. At most 30 only because they will be gifts. I think 50 is more than enough. But I agree with the other commenter.. if you think it’s not enough go with body suits or zipper sleepers. They don’t need cutesy outfits all the time.

If anything buy some plain body suits. She doesn’t need to be dressed up every day. But I think 50 is a good amount.

I think 20 or so outfits in each size seems about right. I remember some days using 5 in one day thanks to spit up, blow outs or any number of other gross things. Hard to make time for laundry!

For the first 3 months my kids only wore 1 piece footed rompers and onesies...they HATED real clothes!!! Let baby be comfortable they aren't on a fashion show...once they are about 6 months then put them in cute clothes. After all no one should or would see them wearing stuff like that before 5/6 months as most of the time they are swaddled in blankets for comfort!

Remember a newborn can go through a lot of clothes from spit up to explode poop. Then they teeth and slobber, spit up, still might have blow outs. I am the same thinking I have a lot but then I remember how my son was and could go through a lot and how some outfits got ruined from blow outs.

you can never have too many sleepers! we have already bought soooo much stuff for our little girl, but that is because when we find great deals we buy bigger sizes! we have stuff up to a 2t now. I say if you want to shop for bigger sizes, go for it!

I had a son. This is what I feel would be necessary- I had a ton more because of gifts. I do laundry once a week.
10-12 onesies
8 pants
8 jammies
7 socks
Loads of bibs.
If I had a girl- I would not be able to contain myself and the girly outfits would be added into that. Because ruffle  butts and floral and bows. Good grief. I'm 18w4d and find out gender a week from Tuesday and really hope this is a girl.

When we had our daughter, we ended up with over 500 articles of clothing ranging 0-18 months 😂 it was terrible! 50 is enough for sure. Our daughter didn’t wear over half the clothes she was gifted

I have almost my whole side full of baby clothes ranging from premie to 24 months. Still planning to buy more. It really just depends on how comfortable you are with the amount you have

I would just wait till bubs is born. I had to get my mum to go out and buy a whole heap of newborn onesies when my son was born. Turns out we didn’t have many new born clothes.
