I donated blood a few weeks ago and this morning I got a call from a random #, confirmed my details, and told me that my blood sample may have tested positive for syphillis. The lady I spoke with mentioned that false positives often happen but it’s worth getting tested just in case. Ive never had any symptoms and all of my partners have been clean. I want to get tested and receive treatment if I need it, but I’d prefer my parents not find out. Im very close with my mom and it wouldn’t be the end of the world if she found out, but I’m afraid she’ll look at me differently. I’m 18 and in school out of state but still on their insurance. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle this?
