PCOS/testing and pills before BFP!

There is a small chance that my husband and I are pregnant. I have PCOS ( no cysts, my uterine and Fallopian tubes tests all came back great. Main problem is not ovulating and I wont have a period on my own). My husband and I have been trying to conceive naturally for two years, until five months ago we saw a specialist. He recommended I lose as much weight as possible and try to get my cycle regular using progesterone they priscribe. In the midst of all of this he got a job out of state and we have been separated half the time until we can move down there. ( probably going to take another 6 months) so we decided that TTC right now wasnt the best idea until my health was better and we were living in the same time zone. Iv been eating keto and working with a personal trainer and Im down 45lbs. This month I definitely noticed some signs of ovulation so I warned him to stear clear because he would come home on my predicted ovulation day.....well... one thing led to another. And like idots we didnt us a condom( I assumed he would pull out, witch I know isnt exactly effective after not seeing him for weeks we got cought up in the moment) he didnt pull out but I pulled away as soon as I realized. It was still pretty early, but it only takes one right? so my problem is I'm supposed to start my progesterone pills tomorrow that's 4 days past ovulation. They are a ten day dose. Am I taking them at the wrong time? Am I supposed to wait? How soon can I get an accurate test? I dont want to risk taking them if we did conceive, but I dont want to mess up getting regular either. Any info is welcome!!!!
