So baby #2 is currently 2 days old and she has failed both newborn hearing tests. The tech, pediatrician at the hospital, and many nurses’s say it’s very common and usually fluid build up in their ears. The thing that scares me is she hasn’t startled to any loud hospital noises (doors slamming etc). I’ve tried to clap, play sounds, and get her attention and I don’t think she can hear it.

I have an 18 month old but never had this issue and recall him being very jumpy towards sounds.

The audiologist won’t see us until baby is 2 weeks. Anyone gone through this? I’m a nervous wreck and can’t seem to stop thinking about it.
