How to care for umbilical cord

y son is 11 days old and his umbilical cord looks like this, it seems to start to be dangling and I'm wondering how to properly care for it. Do I clean where its starting to come off or continue to just clean the base? I'm so nervous its falling off to early, what should I expect when it fully comes off?
