Stork Bite?

Question

Has anyone else had a baby with a stork bite on their lower back? My son has a large one and I just read stork bites are usually only on the face and back of the neck. Of course Dr. Google is scaring the crap out of me now saying birthmarks on the lower back could be a sign of spinal problems. My midwife did not seem concerned at all and our next appointment isn't until 6 weeks.

My baby doesn't have one but I do and I've never had a spinal issue. I've learned by experience that Google can be your enemy.

My daughter has one on her lower back and on her neck.  She’s fine.  Usually if there is spinal issues it’s accompanied by a dimple in center lower back.  They would have checked your babies alignment and hips at their first appointment if not at the hospital at least.  But bring it up and ask just to put your mind at ease

I have one on the back of my neck. Birthmarks generally can be anywhere on the body. I wouldnt be concerned about it!

Yes I personally have one on my lower back. My first daughter does in her forehead and my second daughter does on her eye lids.

Mind has one on her left eye. I haven’t consulted Dr. Google (lol) yet but that’s what the pediatrician called it the first post hospital visit. It’s been a month, still there. Terrible name “stork bite” like...they euphemism ain’t gonna make it any better.
