Is this a good deal?

Question

The package has 36 prefold and 4 covers for about $95+ shipping. You can choose bleached or unbleached cotton prefolds and choose the diaper cover design.  I bought this package once before in there "toddler size" for about 6 months up while i was ttc.  Now that I'm expecting id like to buy diapers in a newborn - 6 month size. 
Is this a good deal? Are prefolds too bulky for little babies? Should i buy flats instead? If you know of any better deals id really love to know?

Seems like a good deal! That's 36 changes which is really all you need if you wash every couple of days, and unless you buy pre loved I don't know where you'd get anything cheaper.

I think small prefolds actually work better than flats for small babies (though, I really loved my half-flats for newborns).  
But I think 4 covers will not be enough for those early poops that often escape the prefold - definitely not enough if you padfold.  I’d say six covers minimum until poop frequency slows down.  
Still, a good deal.

Does it let you choose the size of the prefolds? My favorite combo for the small baby stage was a 27x27 inch flat and one of these size 1 Thirsties covers. I didn’t try prefolds until 7 months. I really liked the size 1 covers. I tried and tried to make it on four covers but found I really needed six to make it to laundry day.
