Should sign language be a part of the regular school curriculum?
I had a client today who’s wife happened to be deaf. The experience made me wish I had learned sign language a long time ago so I would have been able to talk to her as well. I’d love to learn and teach my son as well.
When I was in school, French and Spanish were offered as electives. I took French but if sign language was offered or even just a part of the normal curriculum, I would have loved that and definitely taken that. I’m not sure what most other schools do but this is what mine offered.
