Has anyone experienced this where people are confused about what race, ethnicity and nationality are and are unable to have nuanced discussions about it because of that?

Like someone will say they are an interracial couple because they are from Spain and their partner is from the US but they will both be white.

Or someone will be say they are black and Jamaican referring to a black Jamaican like that’s a mixture of something besides two black people racially 😐

Or some people will think being Hispanic or Latino prevents a person from being white black or Asian as well.

It seems to be such a confusing concept for people.
