I have delayed cord clamping written in my birth plan for natural or c-section.

Couldn’t happen with my first, but this time it’s happening! My midwife said it was standard procedure for them to do anyways so that was a relief!

Most hospitals do this as standard procedure but make sure you take charge of your care and whoever is cutting the cord (typically the father) knows. My OB gave my husband the scissors and my husband said “we want to delay” and my ob said “it’s good enough”. 🤷‍♀️ There were too many things going on for me to have a clear head about it.

That was my number on request in our birth plan for our first son & it weren’t able to. Brat didn’t come out screaming so the rushed him away, he finally yelled at and swung at the nurses to leave him alone. He was super quiet and chill from the start - now that he’ll be 1 Friday I can’t stay the same lol
