Filed for taxes and now he refuses to help out?

We have a 4 year old I allowed his father to file for taxes when our son was a year old this is now my second year filing for taxes and I do not share that money with his father. It’s all in a savings account, we are not together and ever since I started doing that he refuses to help me out money wise. Seriously even $100 a month would help! I don’t ever ask him for money and if I do probably every other month. He watches our son twice a week and I believe he has it the easy way because he never has to spend money on our child or ever has to watch him. I’m starting to think maybe I should give him half but I honestly believe he doesn’t deserve it.

Don’t give him money, just put him on child support & let the courts deal with him.

Go to court and get a custody and child support agreement.  Men who refuse to help on their own have to be held accountable.  You didn’t make that baby alone and he needs to help.  The parent who has primary care giver responsibilities gets to claim the child on taxes.  That’s standard, and a dad who refuses to help because of that is scum.

Why didn't the courts award child support when you filed for it?

Court. I'm the type to give the man a chance to help without the law getting involved, but when he refuses to support the child he helped make he can enjoy the wage garnishments.

He should pay you child support, get it arranged thru the courts. As far as taxes go, whoever has the child the majority of the year is supposed to claim the child and therefore get the money. Even if he paid child support, he isn't entitled to any of the tax refund.
