Formula Mommas HELP!

M

When we stopped breastfeeding, I tried feeding my little guy some Similac samples I got from his pediatrician. He was throwing up full bottles. So I went out & bought him Enfamil A.R., and he’s been on that since. (I would’ve gone with Similac for Spit Up, because that’s what my daughter used & we loved, but I’m getting WIC this time & they only cover Enfamil.)

Anyway, he is spitting up a ton. Whether he’s sitting up during feedings, burped a ton, I’ve even tried to reduce the amount given (4 oz every 2-3 hours)...he still spits up. He does it while I’m burping him almost every time and then also for a while after, even if he’s sleeping. Sometimes its more than others. He doesn’t seem to mind it, but it’s obviously very frustrating to have to change his outfit 5 times a day and go through countless burp cloths as well. I called his pediatrician about possibly switching his formula because of it & the nurse basically told me it’s normal and to do all the things I’m already doing... keep him sitting up, burp often, blah blah, and if it doesn’t stop after doing all those things, to bring him in for a weight check. I know he’s growing though.

My question is, has anyone else had a problem with spit up using Enfamil, and success with another brand? Should I try a different kind of Enfamil?

Also, he’s only pooping once a day at night usually and it’s not much. The nurse also said it’s normal. Is it normal for your formula fed babies?

Thanks!
