What to use while sick?!

Question

So I came home from work and a cold is hitting me really hard all the sudden. Body aches, I’m cold, no fever at least not yet, and really congested. 
I know I can’t use DayQuil/NyQuil. But what can I use? Nasal spray? Vick’s rub? I have these and kids robitussin in the house right now. It’s too late to call my doctor so I’m just looking for some temporary relief.

I’m a nurse practitioner and just had a first trimester cold myself. I took Coricidin HBP cold medicine. It’s catagory B- pregnancy safe because if doesn’t have the harmful decongestant. It’s made for people with high blood pressure. Also- if you are congested make Saline nasal rinses your best friend. Lots of honey and lemon tea and cough drops. Also- elderberry will help boost your immune system. This combo got me through a 12 Hour shift at the hospital and I felt sooo much better the next day. Hope you feel better!

Hang in there. I’m on day 3 of a brutal cold/some sort of virus — I did end up with a low grade fever. Nasal strips and Tylenol at bedtime have helped. I’ve been able to get some sleep. Lots of fluids during the day. Seriously missing NyQuil. Hope you’re feeling better soon.
