Questioning a professional
I am the last person to mistrust a professional who’s done years of schooling, especially a doctor. I will follow any guidelines given to me by my doctor.
But!
We’ve had the same pediatrician for my boys for almost 3 years and have always thought he was fabulous. Today, he advised me to do something for my two month old that I KNOW is not right. For one, I’ve done extensive research on the topic because when it comes to my bringing up concerns at the appointments I like to ask knowledgeable questions. And two, when I asked about this particular topic with my first son he himself said it wasn’t necessary; two years later he’s changed his tune.
This isn’t the only thing that’s gotten my husband and I a little defensive recently but it might be my last straw.
I’d hate to change an otherwise great doctor for something dumb but I also don’t want him giving dangerous advice. So my question is at what point would you question a professional and their advice?
