My doctor told me not to wear one. I am a petite thin person. Everyone is different. I would talk to your doctor for a recommendation. From what I have read it seems like some hospitals will give you one.

Depends on your build. I bought one and thought it was awful to wear. My doctor then told me that since I am skinny that it will make me feel worse. If you do wear one don't choose a waist trainer because you don't want something too tight.
