Baby RSV and now a cold?

My 2 yr old brought home RSV and infected my 7 week old (she was 4 weeks at the time) a few weeks ago and it was traumatizing. We were in the hospital for 3 days - turns out she’s okay. And she got over it. Flash forward to now - my 2 yr old has a cold for literally 24 hours on Sunday and now it’s gone: but my 7 week old is sneezing and doing some small coughs. I’m TERRIFIED. What are the odds of her developing RSV again? Is it possible it’s just a small cold? She’s in high spirits and feeding/eating great. Just the sneezing and some small coughs. Any advice would be great! Thanks mommas.

Since your LO doesn’t seem too bothered by it, I wouldn’t worry too much. But of course it wouldn’t hurt to call your Paediatrician just to see what he says about it. If baby is content and is eating, doesn’t have a fever or trouble breathing, it’s probably just a common cold and will pass with time. My 8-year-old is home with a bad cold right now too and I’m trying so hard to keep her as isolated as possible so my 7-week-old doesn’t catch it! I hate this time of year...can’t wait for spring/summer 🤦🏻‍♀️

In the same boat. My baby was hospitalized for 2 days for RSV at 2weeks passed on by my 15 month old who is the cutest little walking germfest. Baby is a month old now and has been sneezing with mucous and a slight cough. I’m not noticing same symptoms as RSV because she’s eating well, alert and in a good mood when awake.

It’s possible i was told by my pediatrician, i got nervous after he got rsv and then a week later sounded like he was getting his cough and stuffiness back. So they gave us a breathing treatment and it worked!
