So me and my ex have a child support case opened that was court ordered. He told me he closed it 2 years ago. I didn't no he couldn't close it. So it's been open the whole time but I didn't have his address or work place turned in. I called them to get my case number, he owes almost 4,000. I gave them his address, his work place phone n address and the lady told me they are gonna send them paper to confirm he works there. I have never had his work place on file. I never known it til now.

So what could be the outcome of this? Does this mean they'll take money from his checks or taxes or what?

Sorry I'm just confused and I have anxiety. I don't want them to take everything he has.
