Do you leave a sick child with a babysitter/nanny

an

Ok, so I work as a nanny and I find the majority of my work through babysitting sites such as care.com or Sittercity.com.

On my profile it specifically says that I’m not willing to care for sick children. I work with more than one family and I can’t risk my job by watching sick children and potentially infecting other kids or myself.

That being said I’ve been caring for a one year old for about six months now, and today she woke up so congested and fussy, she’s miserable, she won’t let me put her down or lose sight of me.

My question is, do you leave your sick children with sitters? If you do, do you pay extra? Would you stay home from work the next day if your sitter told you that your kid is sick so you don’t burden the sitter?

I’m considering charging them more for today because they (should have) known better.

PS- I know dad knew she was sick before he left for work because unlike every other night he didn’t give her her pacifier to bed, because she can’t breath out of her nose right now. I also saw meds on the table and her snot straw sucker thing was out.
