No level tests?

Is it normal to not be testing HCG levels for a first pregnancy? I see everyone posting about it, but my doctor hasn’t suggested it or even mentioned it. I’m about 5 weeks.

Mine didn't. If you have no history of problems and no problems are found, I not sure they test. Mine only tested levels when there was a problem.

My Dr did one to confirm the pregnancy but no follow up tests.

Normal. An old doctor of mine did and I had it done for one pregnancy. Since then my new doctor does not and honestly I’m grateful. It added a lot of stress worrying if the blood tests and hcg levels!

My Dr. Wasnt goin to do one but i asked (as to where i always had high risk pregnancies i just wanted some reassurance) so i asked and he said sure if thats what you would like. Never hurts to ask... Good luck 😁

With my first pregnancy they never suggested it, but that one resulted in a mmc. Even this second one they didn’t suggest it until I mentioned some spotting and got just a first draw done and it was high enough to not get a second. It’s really only necessary if there was a prior miscarriage or fertility treatments.

It's normal. Depends on the Dr. Mine does not test levels at all.

By not testing I mean farther than a preliminary blood test.
