My doc made me wait until my cyst ruptured on my upper thigh (right below butt where you sit). It was incredibly painful. My mom helped me clean it and keep it bandaged until morning. I had sat on the toilet when it ruptured, so it needed cleaning. 
Patient first was able to go in and clean all the puss out and pack it. I had to go back twice. Very painful. Took over a week to heal. Turns out I had a small pimple like bump on my leg where a hair rubbed off. Creating the bump that then got infected and turned into a cyst. Keep any bumps you get cleaned regularly. Change your panties often too.

I had a pilonidal cyst a few years back but mine was in my butt crack literally. I went in to the doctor because i couldnt walk and they lanced it and cleaned it out so they made sure no puss was left and it hasnt come back since. Maybe it's worth seeing a doc and having them do that.
