Are you packing your breast pump in your hospital bag?

I’m not really familiar with pumps. I’m bringing mine just in case I have questions. The lactation consultant will be able to help me out a little. I don’t want to get the baby home and be confused. I plan on exclusively pumping.

Nope but wanted to say I packing my pumping bra in case I do need to pump.

In the UK we’re advised against pumping at the beginning as the amounts produced could be so small they get lost in the pump. Our midwife says that you use hand stimulation to collect the first few drops if baby can’t get them by themselves. 
Though it’s possible you have longer hospital stays in the US? If all is healthy and we delivered vaginally we go after 8 hours for FTM.

no, I'm hardly packing anything since I'll be in a birthing center not a hospital, and they let you leave 4 hours after birth so I wont need much lol

A lot of hospitals now offer the use of one to new moms and usually have a lactation consultant on hand as well

I should be exclusively breastfeeding at that point. If I happen to need it, the hospital will have one, or we live 4 minutes away from the hospital. Ha.

Bringing mine because they provide the Medela pump and I got the Spectra. So it will be good to learn how to use my own.

I'm bringing mine so hopefully they can help with flange sizes and show me the right way to work it. 😂 I didn't with my first and really regret not having it since it was completely different than the hospital one.

Yes because even though the hospital will provide one for you, if you bring yours and don’t already know how to use it, they can help you with it since each pump is different for settings and such

If you need one, most hospitals provide one during your stay but unless you have a baby who can’t feed, you probably won’t need to pump yet.
