Switching to fresh sperm from frozen donor, need advice???

Question

The wife and I are switch to a known donor to be able to have longer life span with fresh sperm. We have timing if insems determined but need help with picking up the sample. 
Do you have sample produced right beforehand (with so much time) or immediately before pick up?

Wife and I did same thing. After 10k in frozen and perfect timing switched to fresh and got our BFP the second cycle using KD. Our donor lived almost 3 hours away and my O never fell on a good day for a hotel rental so we would drive up and contact right before and we would pick up our super fresh donation and put it in Right away.

My donor has tried lots of different options but now sticks to just one: rent a hotel near him, meet in the lobby and give him the key, he does his thing and comes back and hands over the key, then recipient goes back in the hotel room and immediately inserts a very fresh sample. He said it is more comfortable/stress-free for both him and recipients and has seen higher success rates this way. The first cycle it was awkward to get used to, but this cycle it really was a super comfortable and relaxing experience.

We arranged a time with our donor and drove to his house to pick it up. I think he did it just before we arrived because sometimes it look him awhile to come outside, lol! Then we inseminated in our car. Two months of that and no luck, so we asked him to come to our place and he did it in our bathroom and then left. We put it in as soon as he was out the door. I think having it so fresh and being relaxed at our home really helped because we got pregnant the first month we tried that! Good luck! You’ll figure out what works for you guys. 😊
