If you could financially, would you SAHM for first 2 years? Or go back to work?

If your partner was the main financial provider for the family and your income would be a wash after daycare for your two babies under 2, would you stay home or would you go back to work?

I’m tying to decide if I want to stay home after leave. I’m due in May with our second baby and my income would be exactly the same cost for daycare which is insane. My husband said it’s up to me, but I’m not sure. I’d hate to send such a young baby to daycare at 5 months old. It makes me cringe! Our son had my niece care for him at our home for the first year but she moved away.

I’m a designer so I could freelance while I stayed home, so not really worried about the break in employment. I just like having an office job because it’s mine, and a chance for me to focus on something that’s separate from my home life. It’s kind of also a mental break as well from being momma and wife. This is awful but I also feel being home with two babies would get boring over time and exhausting! 😑 lol... terrible I know....
