Disney World while pregnant? How was it?

So, my husband and I are planning a Disney World trip for my little man sometime in August. I’ll be about 29-30 weeks pregnant when we do decide to go, I could possibly be later along, maybe 32-33ish if saving doesn’t go as planned. I’m hoping this pregnancy is low risk and problem free, but I’m just wondering; since this will be my second child, even if the pregnancy is low risk, could all the walking and standing long periods of time in line make me go into labor? Any mommas that have been while pregnant have any stories?

At 32-33 weeks pregnant I would not enjoy Disney world. I’m on my fourth pregnancy and all the walking would kill me (extreme pelvic pain when walking for too long)- not to mention how congested it gets there. If you can get there around 28ish weeks that would be easier, in my opinion... You will also want to make sure your doctor gives you the okay to continue traveling. I traveled my last pregnancy up until about 33 weeks and it was fine though.
Don’t worry about Zika. Tons of pregnant people LIVE in Florida. I was just there about a month ago and didn’t see a single mosquito. It was also cooler outside.

I went while pregnant and it really sucked not being able to ride most of the rides nor drink alcohol. There was a food/wine festival happening at universal while we were there. We walked about 9-10 miles a day and by the end of each day I was too tired to do anything except immediately shower and go to bed. If you don’t care about rides, or drinking, or going out at night, it may still be worth it to you. But I honestly wished I could have saved our money and gone at another time.

I went in October at 33 weeks and had a good time with my three older boys.  I was able to ride most of the rides at Magic Kingdom still, so that was definitely my favorite park to be at.

I went to Disney World when I was 9 weeks and it was exhausting. We went in September and it’s still blazing hot! I think if you were to just do Magic Kingdom for a couple of days that would be fine. I was able to do more at that park than any of the other parks. But to do all the parks in a week. Not worth it. Disney World is a lot more spread out as well. So it’s more walking than you think. I think Disneyland would be a much better option for pregnant mommas. It’s smaller and the attractions are closer together.  And the weather is a lot nicer. As much as I hate putting off a Disney experience, I think you would have a better time if you saved and waited.

Native Floridian here 🙋🏻‍♀️ Just be aware that during the summer months, Disney is EXTREMELY crowded...loooooong lines....and it's going to be ridiculously hot and humid, which absolutely drains you, even if you aren't pregnant. I think I'd at least wait until you weren't pregnant to go and maybe go at a later time. I feel bad, I just don't want you to be miserable.

I would not enjoy Disney that pregnant. It's rough on a body when not pregnant. Zika is not an issue; it has never been transmitted locally in Orlando. Miami was the problem spot. Also, Disney World also employs serious mosquito control methods. I've seen one mosquito in over a dozen trips.

I would definitely look into and consider the risk for contracting Zika virus while you’re there. I’m not sure if Disney World has mosquitoes that are carriers, but I know they are in some parts of Florida.
