Baby at a funeral?
My best friend’s father passed away this week and the funeral is Saturday. She asked me to drive to her hometown and go, and of course I am, I’m just trying to figure out what to do regarding my baby. She’s 4 weeks old and exclusively breast feeding. My SO said he’ll go with me and do whatever I need him to do regarding the baby to make sure I can attend the funeral and see my friend and her family.
Is it acceptable to bring a baby to a funeral? If I nurse her beforehand and wear her, she’ll most likely just sleep the whole time, and I can sit in the back so I can leave immediately if she starts crying.
Or should I have my SO wait in the car with her or somewhere else? That seems odd and a bit extreme, but I want to do what’s best and most respectful for my friend’s family.
She also has a baby, he’s 5 months old and my godson. So I think she’d be fine with me bringing my daughter, but I’m not sure.
