How soon to TTC after miscarriage?

Question

I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks. How soon did you ladies tried to conceive? Doctor told me I can try on my next period. Im not using any birth control but scare to get pregnant.

My OB suggested waiting at least one full cycle, but said it was fine to try again after that. We actually waited about 3 months, not because of any physical/medical aspects, but just because I didn’t feel emotionally ready. I talked with my husband about it and asked him to allow me some time before we tried again. I was really an emotional wreck for the first month or two (very weepy and depressed and hormones causing mood swings...) so that waiting period gave me time to balance out, grieve this loss, and start to heal emotionally. I think this is something that each couple needs to decide for themselves. If you’re feeling scared, make sure your partner knows that. It’s ok not to rush back into it. Make the decision together so it’s something you’re both comfortable with.

I waited until my first period just to make sure everything was back to normal. It took 5 weeks and one day, and I just started my tww. Good luck to you xx
