Middle of the night waking/crying
My daughter went from sleeping a 6-8 hour stretch to waking every 3 hours overnight. We’re both exhausted. My pediatrician says to let her cry and not feed her. I’ve started trying to delay nursing to see if she can get settled without it, but waiting it out is brutal! Tonight, she cried for nearly forty-five minutes on and off before I gave in and fed her. I tried patting her back, giving her a pacifier, leaving the room, and rocking her. How long should I let her cry? I’m worried about harming her with the crying but also with the lack of sleep. I feel like I’m not getting this right at all. We do put her down for the night awake and she puts herself to sleep but the middle of the night wakings seem to be getting worse and worse.
