Is a relationship even worth it? (Read)

Im 17 sad n lonely n depressed. I really want a boyf just to love me, feed me and fill me up 😉. But all my friends that have them moan about them and even me when i was speaking to this guy who i really liked it made me stressed when he wouldn’t reply for 7 HOURS (yeh ik so irritating) and i could tell he only wanted me for sex but i liked him 😕 and all my friends drilled it into me that hes worthless and didn’t give a f*ck about me :/, i just wanna be happy guys, is a relationship really worth it or can i be happy single?

You can be happy and single. Don’t settle for someone who’s just using you for sex, that’s even worse for you

Trying to find a boyfriend to fix your own personal mental health challenges won’t fulfill you like you are wanting. I know it may feel like a solution but it most likely will end in disappointment. You can definitely be happy single, and would likely get even more out of a relationship if you went into it content with your own self than if you are lonely and depressed. And you would likely be able to better spot red flags and listen to your gut when you love yourself and are content with being single. Instead of saying yes to more than you would normally just because your lonely and want to be like your friends. It’s hard when you’re young and you feel like you’re the only one who is single or you feel left out. But trust me in a few years you’ll be happy and maybe even avoided some heartbreak that your friends will endure because high school relationships don’t always make it past high school and/or college. Keep your head up!

I’ve been single 6 years, I’d rather be single than with someone who uses or abuses me. Learn to love yourself, learn what you need and want from a relationship. 
I know what I’m after, none of the guys I’ve met lately have lived up to it, I’m not going to settle for 2nd best.

You cannot reply a someone else to make you happy. If you’re “lonely and depressed” you need to deal with that first, otherwise a relationship isn’t going to work. You cannot relay on a man for your happiness, do not fall into that trap at such a young age or ever. Be happy first and when the right person comes along, you can share in the happiness together and do things to add to your happiness, not create it. 
The right person adds to your life, doesn’t make you miserable and the people in your life don’t continuously tell you that person isn’t good for you.

I don’t think you should settle. You’ll find a man who loves you and gives you the attention and time you deserve. I deal with depression as well, so I know it’s not as simple as “learn to love yourself”. I know sometimes it takes someone loving you for you to see that you are lovable. It takes someone loving you on days where you can’t stand to see yourself in the mirror. 
But I also strongly believe in being content single. You don’t have to love the fact that you’re single, and you can want a relationship;but you shouldn’t make it your biggest goal. You should be content and strong in who you are alone, before you bring someone else into the picture. 
Because as someone with depression, breakups WILL destroy you if you don’t have the strength to get through them. Especially the ones that are a long term relationship where you believe you’ve finally found the one.
